It is clear that with Coral football betting there will always be something to have a bet on. Coral also promotes football very well with various Coral offers and bonuses. An Acca boost is available for accumulators of 4 legs or more, meaning that the odds are enhanced by up to. The Coral Football Jackpot started at the beginning of the 2013-2014 football season with the first match on the first coupon kicking off at 3pm on Saturday 17th August 2013. For the launch the first jackpot win was guaranteed to be at least £1m, after which it was reset to the normal weekly minimum of £100,000. Football Jackpot is a pool betting product promoted and operated by Coral on 15 pre-selected football matches (‘Pools‘). It requires customers to predict the outcome of fifteen matches over the weekend for a £2 bet, and the total jackpot is then shared between any winning customers.
Handicap Match Betting
Handicap betting is where one selection in an event is given a 'handicap' to overcome in order to win. This is popular when strong favourites are playing, instead of placing a match bet at short odds, you can place a bet at longer odds with a 1 or 2 goal start for instance.
When placing a bet on a handicap market, you are betting on your selection to win with the handicap being taken into account.
For example:
Chelsea (-1) @ 8/13
Tie (-1) @ 8/11
Football Betting Nfl
Burnley (+1) @ 1/1
If you place your bet on Chelsea (-1) this means that you need to take one goal away from whatever Chelsea score.
- If Chelsea win the game 3-1, your bet is still a winner because Chelsea won the game 2-1 with the goal deficit accounted for.
- If Chelsea win the game 1-0, your bet is a loser as with the handicap taken into account the result would be 0-0.
If you placed your bet on Burnley (+1) this means that you need to add one goal to whatever Burnley score.
- If the game ended 2-2, your bet is a winner. This is because Burnley had a 1 goal advantage at the start of the game, so with your handicap applied the game has ended 3-2 to Burnley.
- If Chelsea win the game 1-0, your bet is still a loser as with the handicap applied to Burnley the result is 1-1.
Please note that the handicap will only apply to the selection that your bet has been placed on and will not include both teams e.g. it is not Chelsea -1 AND Burnley +1..
No tie handicap betting
Half a point or half a goal is a common term in handicaps to ensure that the bet cannot end in a tie. Since you obviously cannot have half a goal, the term under 1.5 goals therefore means 1 or 0, with over 1.5 being 2 or more. Please click here for a full explanation.
Snooker Handicap Betting
We offer markets for both players in a Snooker game to win the match via a Handicap. The player that you bet on must win the game by the spread shown at the time of the bet being placed. For example, if you bet on Ronnie O'Sullivan -5.5, he must win the match by 6 frames or more. If you bet on the other player to win the match, in this case Matthew Stevens +5.5, he cannot lose the game by 6 games or more, otherwise this will be a losing bet.
Darts Handicap Betting
Darts handicap markets can have different terms depending on the length of matches. For short matches, such as Premier League matches, which are played out over a small number of legs then the handicap applies to the number of legs. For instance, Adrian Lewis being +1.5 legs against Phil Taylor, with the actual result being 6-6 means Adrian Lewis is the winner (as the handicap added would make the score 7.5-6 to Lewis).
For longer matches such as at the World Championship where matches are decided by sets, handicap betting may be available in the form of Bunting (+1.5 sets) in which case the handicap is based on the sets rather than the legs. The principle of both bets is the same.
Other Sports Handicap Betting
The same logic applies to handicap markets offered on other sports such as Baseball, Tennis, Ice Hockey etc.. The extra score is added to the team/player's score to determine the final score.
Result showing as 'H' in Bet History
You may see your bet settled as a 'H' instead of win or lose, this is because the goal/points line can change and the result is not simply win or lose but an under/over figure hence being displayed in your bet history as 'H' regardless of result.
Football Season Handicap Betting
This bet is only available pre-season. Each team in the league is given a handicap and then the final league result is when ALL handicaps have been added. The favourite will usually be 'Scratch' which means no handicap. They will win if their points total is still the greatest even after each team has had their handicap total added to their score. For instance:
Chelsea (Scratch)
Man City (+2)
Arsenal (+5)
Man Utd (+8)
Tottenham (+10)
Imagine the league consisting only the five teams above. Now if we add their handicaps to the final scores:
Chelsea 100 (+Scr) = 100
Man City 97 (+2) = 99
Arsenal 93 (+5) = 98
Man Utd 89 (+8) = 97
Tottenham 91 (+10) = 101

Therefore, in the situation above the winner of the handicap would in fact be Tottenham.
